Moving house – Pinoy-style

As someone who has lived on ships, and moved from Europe to Asia, back to Europe, onwards to Australasia and back to Asia again…I like to think that I know a bit about moving house. But this is the Philippines, and they have their own distinctive take on house-moving. Pickfords, take note!

  1. I am glad to see that despite our advanced lifestyle & sophisticated ways workers there still function the same as city workers here – 3 or 4 do the work while 10 give advice and orders. At least you don’t need inspections, moving permits, flag minders and safety officers. 🙂

  2. If only I could do that here – we have a pole frame house and I was hoping to have it put on a flat-bed and shipped to someone who could use so we could rebuild. All too hard so now we have to knock down and write off a perfectly usable home that we have just outgrown.
